This page will show you what the children have been learning about.

Term 4

We have been finding out about Brunel and the SS Great Britain. At the start of term, we visited the ship and then we wrote historical stories based there. Also we enjoyed a visit from Warburtons and had tennis coaching at Merchants Academy

Term  3

This term we have been enjoying writing, using the Iron Man story as our inspiration.

We have written letters, diaries and newspaper reports. Also we had a farmers' meeting to discuss what should be done about the Iron Man, which was lots of fun.

In D.T we have created torches and some of us even based these on the Iron Man. We are continuing our topic of 'Engineers and Inventions' in term 4, starting with a visit to the SS Great Britain.

 Terms 1 and 2

Willow class have been studying the Tudors. We have learnt a Tudor dance, acted as King Henry VIII and created 'Pop art' portraits.

'Raise the Roof' was an excellent experience, where we sang lots of sporty songs with other schools.

We have enjoyed writing poems about dragons as a Critical Skills Challenge.

Also, in D.T. we have researched different sorts of packaging, then we used our skills from maths to create our own.

We had a very busy Term 6. After researching Horseshoe Bats, we went to Cheddar Caves to find some.
While we were there we also carried out geography field work, went on the tour bus and explored the caves.
We then stayed late at school, made our own yummy sandwiches for tea and watched a DVD!

In D.T. we have created moving vehicles using wind power, based on beach buggies. As part of our
Geography and Science we visited Weston-Super-Mare to look at how places can change because of
tourists and had a great time on the beach.
