So first day at Folly Farm and it's all gone very well. We have
spent the day out in the woods hunting for minibeasts; playing
rabbits and foxes; investigating mammals and searching for owl
pellets. Our centre leader Jo is great and we have all learnt alot,
even Mr Wiggins!
We all just arrived back at the centre and have been settling into
our lovely rooms and trying to find our toothbrushes.
There's more work this evening with a night-walk after tea, where we
might spot some owls.
Hopefully bedtime is at 9pm!
Here are some pictures of today's activities

It's been a
really smashing day here at Folly Farm with yet more amazing
activities. This morning the children checked their humane mammal
traps that we laid the night before. Out of 7 traps, 4 had wildlife
in them; 2 wood-mice and 2 bank-voles! Then it was time for some
pond dipping which was really great fun. After lunch we headed out
again, this time taking a walk through a beautiful bluebell wood.
Finally, we made our own little conservation area in the forest!
The children are definitely tired tonight so we are expecting an
early night, well here's hoping!
