Welcome to the FODS page on Dundry School’s website, & Thank you for taking a look. What is FODS you ask?

It stands for Friends of Dundry School, and we are an approachable group of parents who fund raise throughout the year to enhance our children’s experience whilst learning & developing at Dundry School. We are all volunteers to make Dundry School the best it can be for our Children.

What we would love is to welcome new ideas and support from you. You can offer as much or as little of your time as you wish.

We raise funds to improve the school for our children and last year we raised £1500 and this enabled us to:

• Donate money to each class teacher to buy books for their year class
• Donate funds to each class teacher to agree with their class what equipment they would benefit from
• Reduce the cost of school trips by paying for an adult supervisor to accompany your children
• Enabled the children to celebrate and enjoy the Royal Wedding
• Enjoy a gift at their Xmas lunch, and make it an enjoyable festive occasion

We have an ambitious target this year to work with the school to allocate funds towards the building works required on the School building to make it a warm, welcoming and safe environment. This will help your child/children develop into happy & confident individuals and enjoy their time at Dundry C of E Primary School.

We work closely with the School Council (children from each year group, Reception is the exception, are selected and gather the ideas and requests of the children at the school) to ensure we are raising funds for the right equipment/play space etc that they, the children would like to enhance their development whilst at school.

As you will all know the school only has a limited budget each year and the spending has to be prioritised, so our aim is to work hard and boost the funds and purchase the additional extras the
school would otherwise have to wait for or go without.

The Friends of Dundry are an integral part of the school and are responsible for most of the schools social calendar with events such as Pamper Nights, Easter Disco/Bingo, Spring Walks, Summer BBQ and the October half term Party.

How can you help??
You don’t have to have hours of free time or any committee experience just good ideas and the willingness to lend a hand would be great – you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to & you can offer as much or as little support as you can – anything would be appreciated.
